Contains Naturally Occurring Marine
Biopolymers
Tropic Marin Bio-Actif Salt mix has been professionally
designed to be used in reef tanks that employ some type of
carbon dosing to create an Ultra-Low Nutrient System (UNLS).
The unique salt incorporates bio-active marine agents that
help protect and enhance your aquarium's fauna growth, leading
to more vibrant and healthier corals. Healthy corals will
naturally grow faster and are more robust, but Bio-Actif salt
is great for fish too by increasing the protection
against damage to mucous membranes, heightened
sensitivity, and elevated mating activity.

Parameters:
Alkalinity - 8 dKH (approx)
Calcium - 440 ppm (approx)
Magnesium - 1350 ppm (approx)
Instructions:
We suggest starting with 1/2 Cups of Tropic Marin
Bio-Actif Salt per 1 Gallon of RODI water. For the best
results, the water should be circulating and at a temperature
of 73-77 °F. Once the water is up to temperature and
circulating, slowly adding the appropriate amount of salt will
allow it to fully dissolve quickly without creating any
concentrated areas where precipitation may occur. The freshly
mixed solution may be slightly cloudy but will clear once it is
added to the tank.
Important - Using conductivity with
freshly mixed Bio-Actif saltwater will show about 10% low. It
is recommended to use specific gravity for reading Tropic Marin
Bio-Actif Salt.
When you have added almost all of the salt and the mixture is
fully dissolved, start measuring the specific gravity with a
refractometer or similar instrument. Keep adding small amounts
of salt until the specific gravity is the value you desire. The
specific gravity of the sea salt solution should range from
1.025 to 1.027 (at 73-77 °F / 23-25 °C) and the pH -value
should be in the range of 8.0 – 8.4. If all parameters are
correct, the salt water is ready to use.
